CAREERS / SCANABLE
Work the set.
We are a capture crew before we are anything else. The work is a mix of long days on a stage with an array and quiet ones in house turning that data into assets — and the people who are good at it tend to be the ones who like both.
WHAT WE CREW
The disciplines we hire for.
These are the roles that make up a SCANable crew. We keep applications on file for all of them and reach out when a show or a base needs the seat filled — production hiring rarely lines up with when someone happens to be looking.
-
01
Scan Technician
[ ON SET / TRAVEL ]Run the array. Deploy the studio, calibrate it, capture talent and props between setups, and keep the data clean under a shooting schedule that will not wait for you.
-
02
Data Wrangler
[ ON SET / IN HOUSE ]Own the chain of custody from card to archive. Verify coverage before the truck moves, and make sure nothing that was captured is ever in doubt later.
-
03
Photogrammetry Artist
[ IN HOUSE ]Solve, clean, and reconstruct. Turn hundreds of synchronized frames into geometry that holds up at hero distance in a finished shot.
-
04
3D Modeler / Texture Artist
[ IN HOUSE ]Retopology, UVs, displacement, and look-dev. Build render-ready assets that drop into a vendor pipeline without a round of notes.
-
05
LiDAR / Survey Technician
[ ON SET / TRAVEL ]Terrestrial scanning of sets, locations, and vehicles. Register the data, keep it to survey tolerance, and deliver something a VFX team can measure against.
-
06
Pipeline / Tools Engineer
[ IN HOUSE ]Keep hundreds of gigabytes a day moving. Automate the boring half of capture processing so the crew spends its time on the parts that need judgment.
HOW IT WORKS
Applying.
Send a reel or a portfolio, a résumé, the base you would work out of, and whether you can travel. If you have shot on set before, tell us what the days looked like — that matters more here than software lists.
Applications go to production@scanable.com with Careers in the subject line. A real person reads them.
We work out of six U.S. bases — Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Houston — and crew travels with the studios from all of them.
