Annabelle: Creation is the 2017 horror film revealing the beginnings of the possessed doll Annabelle, which opened in theaters on August 11, 2017. Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home — soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation. David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote Annabelle. Produced by Peter Safran and James Wan, the film stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee and Tayler Buck, with Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto.
SCANable performed 3D scans of Anthony LaPaglia and Talitha Bateman, along with LiDAR scanning of the home’s exterior at Big Sky Movie Ranch in Simi Valley, California — providing body scan and environment data to support Shade VFX’s work on the film.
